SAGA, The Craft People

SAGA, The Craft People, a firm concentrates on interior designing and contracting projects, but also forays into Project management Consulting, Marketing Consultant for Builders and other construction activities such as renovations and re modelling. SAGA is formed in 2017 to cater the interior job work requirements.

Started in 2017 as a hot-pressing unit, we are now equipped with sliding panel saw machines, manual edge bander and hot-pressing machines. We undertake hot pressing of laminates and vineers to ply and MDF, cold pressing of lam, acrylic etc to multiword, ply and MDF, cutting and edge banding. Through collaboration with VIVID Interiors, we also undertake through feed edge banding, multi -boring works. We are located at Kaniyampuzha road in Eroor near Vyttila. Our unit is licenced with approval from Pollution control board.

Machineries


1. Hot-pressing / Cold pressing

 

Make – Nihar

Daily Output (8hrs shift) – 65 Panels double side laminated and 125 panels one side laminated

Application – Pressing of laminates, veneers, acrylics to doors, block boards, plywood, multiwood, MDF, HDF and other similar panels of max size 2440mm X 1220mm

Rate for Pressing : Rs. 300/laminate, Rs. 384/veneer

 

Advantages

  • Time required to press 2 laminate ranges from 4-7 minutes there by saves time.
  • Uniform application of glue, equal pressure and uniform heating ensure quality in pressing.
  • Quality of plywood will be rechecked in the heating process as the panels are hot pressed at 80-90 degree Celsius.
  • 80 - 90 psi pressure is applied ensuring better adhesive effect than conventional way of putting weight over boards
  • Glue applied is D3 grade water-based adhesive which is superior that SH adhesives.

 

2. Sliding Panel Saw machines

 

Make – Nihar

Daily Output (8hrs shift) – 25 Boards

Applications - Cutting of plywood, MDF and other panel boards, wood etc., Trimming & Grooving works, Glass door cuttings

Rate: Rs. 350/board

 

Advantages

  • Precision in cutting - rulers on both side of table enables precise fixing of measure thereby ensure precision in cutting dimension.
  • Saves a lot of time – Sliding board enables easy manoeuvring of panels, there by enabling the operator to cut the panel with ease. Require less than 1/4th time to manually cut a panel to sizes.
  • Quality in cutting – equipped with two blades – main blade and scoring blade and there by avoids chipping of laminates, veneers etc.
  • Quality of manual cutting is purely based on the skill and efficiency of the carpenter, whereas panel saw reduces such deficiencies to a great extent.
  • Reduce wastage of materials – As the cutting job requires pre-determined dimensions which will be plotted in a cut lay out diagram to enable the operator to cut the panel in a pre-determined size, thereby ensuring minimum wastage of panel.

 

3. Edge banding Machines

 

Make – Jai Machines

Daily Output (8hrs shift) – 500m – 2500 m per day based on thickness

Applications - Edge banding of PVC edge (0.45mm – 2mm) bands to panels

Rate: Rs. 30/m – Rs. 60/m based on thickness and size

 

We collaborate with Vivid interior to provide quality finish for edge lipping works which also includes wooden lipping up to 12mm thickness upon pre order.
